How to Take Off Write Protect on a Memorex Flash Drive
Memorex flash drives provide compact, convenient storage for files of all types. Because a Memorex flash drive's content is viewable upon the device's connection to a computer, you may wish to enable write protection to ensure privacy and security at some point. You will need to deactivate write protect to regain use of your flash drive's files. Memorex flash drives use a write protection interface known as Memorex LOCK. Navigate Memorex LOCK's password controls to turn off write protect on your Memorex flash drive.
Instructions
1
Insert your Memorex flash drive into an available USB port on your computer.
2
Wait for your computer to recognize the Memorex flash drive as a removable storage drive. The Memorex flash drive's device icon will appear on your desktop or in Windows Explorer.
Double-click the Memorex flash drive's device icon to reveal its file folder's contents.
4
Double-click the Memorex LOCK application icon to launch the write protect utility.
5
Click the "Disable Password" icon, which is the second key-shaped icon from the bottom left. The Disable Password icon appears as a key beneath a "no" sign.
6
Enter the existing Memorex LOCK write protection password into the ensuing "Enter Password" field. Doing so takes off the write protection on your Memorex flash drive.
