Installing LED lights on horse trailer has a number of benefits. LED lights consume up to 90 percent less electricity which reduces the electrical load on the tow vehicle. They remain cool to the touch when left on for many hours. LED lights may last as long as 20 years before needing replacement and perform well in moist environments. Upgrading your trailer to LED lights can be done with some common tools.
Instructions

Remove the lens on the trailer light by prying a corner with a slotted screwdriver.

Loosen the bolt or screw that fastens the light to the trailer's frame with the appropriate tool.
3.Pull the light from the trailer and cut the wire that provides the power with the cutting device on the wire strippers. Leave as much wire on the trailer side as possible.

Take the light to a local trailer dealer and purchase an LED light that matches its application and mounting holes.

Strip 1/4 inch of insulation off the trailer light wire with the wire strippers. Connect the LED light's power wire to the trailer wire with a butt connector. These work by placing one wire in each end and compressing the connector with pliers. Wrap this connection in electrical tape to provide additional protection.

Hold the LED light into position on the trailer and secure with the two screws provided.

Repeat this process for every light on the trailer.
