How to Set Up GPS on an iPhone

Using AT&T's cellular network to triangulate its position, the iPhone uses its GPS for a number of applications, including functions such as Internet searches, the Facebook "Check-In" feature, photo tagging and the native "Maps" application. To use any of these functions, you must activate the "Location Services" located in the "Settings" app of your iPhone.

Tap the "Settings" app from the home screen of your iPhone.

Tap "General" from the list.

Tap "Location Services" from the list of options and slide the "Location Services" toggle switch to the "On" position. To use the "Location Services" option with the "Maps" app that comes with your iPhone, navigate back to the home screen, tap the "Maps" app and tap the small arrow icon located in the bottom-left of the display.
