LEDs, or light-emitting diodes, are prized for efficiency and longevity as compared with traditional incandescent lights. Installing LEDs on your vehicle reduces the number of times you are likely to need to change your bulbs. All LEDs are DC, or direct current, lights. Each LED is 3.5 volts, so a 12-volt LED is comprised of four LED bulbs.
Instructions

Determine the polarity of the LED bulb. The back of the LED, where the leads are kept, may be marked with a plus and minus, indicating the polarity. If they are not, usually one edge of the LED bulb is flattened, and this indicates the negative lead.

Solder the LED leads together in series. Do this by soldering the positive lead of the first bulb to the negative lead of the second bulb, and keep repeating that pattern until all the positives have been linked to all the negatives, except for the first and last lead, which should not be connected so as not to form a loop.
3.Solder the unattached positive lead to the positive backup light wire.

Solder the unattached negative lead to the negative backup light wire.
Tips & Warnings
The LEDs will not function if the polarity is reversed. In other words, if you mistakenly solder the positive lead to the negative backup light, or the negative lead to the positive backup light, the LEDs will not illuminate.
